Xanthohumol has a number of well-documented, extremely effective antibacterial activity against such dangerous bacteria as,
Staphylococcus aureus and for bacteria that cause acne, e.g. Propionibacterium acnes (P.acnes.).
Intensive research is underway to clarify the mechanism of action itself, for today it is very promising that no effect of xanthohumol on the composition of the gut microbiome has been observed.
