Xanthohumol’s excellent anti-inflammatory properties are used in dermatology.
When applied to the skin, Xanthohumol has a balancing effect, preventing the development of various undesirable changes (e.g. the much sought-after whitening effect, i.e. restoring the skin’s natural colour).
Xanthohumol improves the texture and firmness of the skin, mainly by inhibiting the enzymes elastase and collagenase (MMP), which are responsible for the loss of collagen and elastin proteins.
This loss is to blame for the sagging effect of the skin, which is particularly visible on the face.
However, by stimulating the biosynthesis of collagen fibres, elastin and fibrins, xanthohumol largely restores the previous appearance.
Xanthohumol eliminates acne lesions by acting on the unfavourable microflora.
Xanthohumol can be considered an anti-aging agent – in simple terms, an anti-ageing substance for the skin.
